STF Silence: Ministers Align on Single Discourse for Statement at the "Right Moment"

A day after the crisis generated by the leak of messages between banker Daniel Vorcaro and Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the STF ignored the scandal during Wednesday's session. Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça sat side by side but did not look at each other or talk, and no word about the discomfort was said in the chamber.

According to sources heard by CBN, the neutral posture at this first moment is part of a strategy. The idea is to avoid rushing and act to preserve the institutional image of the Supreme Court. The assessment is that there is a right moment to act publicly.

Behind the scenes, however, the opposite is happening. Ministers are talking and aligning their discourse so that, when there is a statement, it is an institutional and unique position, without attributing it to someone in an isolated way.

Without citing the specific case involving Moraes, STF President Minister Edson Fachin said at a public event that he intends to announce some "appropriate measures" in the coming days to deal with the situation.

The PL candidate, Flávio Bolsonaro, downplayed the revelation during an event in Porto Alegre, stating that it is impossible to use this as a "smoke screen" against Mendonça, emphasizing that the matter was handled professionally and recorded in the schedule, unlike what Alexandre de Moraes did.
