Alegro Sintra launched the Chefs Lá de Casa contest, integrated into the first edition of the Sintra à Prova event. The challenge is aimed at families who want to reinvent the traditional Queijada de Sintra, one of the most emblematic sweets of the region. Participants must present a new version of the classic sweet, while maintaining the essence of the original recipe but with a touch of innovation.

There are 20 spots available for competitors, who will be able to demonstrate their culinary skills in an attempt to win the contest. The prize for the winner is 500 euros, an amount intended to motivate families interested in traditional Portuguese cooking and pastry-making to participate.

The Queijada de Sintra is a sweet with a strong tradition in the region, known for its characteristic flavor and its importance in the local gastronomic heritage. The contest arises as a way to celebrate and boost this culinary heritage, inviting the community to contribute with new interpretations of a recipe that has generations of history.
