The Instituto da Segurança Social (ISS), led by Pedro Corte Real, alerted citizens to the existence of fraudulent messages being sent in its name, containing links to fake pages that improperly use the image of the Social Security Portal.
According to the institute, this is a phishing action aimed at obtaining confidential information from citizens, such as personal and banking data, or extorting money, using the Social Security's identity abusively.
The ISS recommended that citizens who receive messages of this type do not click on links or provide any personal or banking data, emphasizing that these messages are not sent by Social Security and are solely intended to allow their authors to obtain money or information illegitimately.
Social Security also recalled that it never sends links, nor asks for banking or personal data via SMS or other messages, recommending that, in case of doubt, citizens consult only the official channels of the institute.
