A walk through 5,000 years of history: Palmela opens special archaeological trail

The Palmela City Council inaugurated an archaeological trail that allows visitors to travel through 5,000 years of history over six kilometres. The route starts in the Neolithic period and extends to the Islamic period, offering a chronological journey through the region's heritage. The initiative aims to enhance the historical legacy of the territory and provide a unique educational experience for visitors. The archaeological trail was developed to be walked, inviting citizens to discover traces of different civilizations that inhabited the area over the millennia.
