Ukraine officially warns: Russian airspace "not safe" for civil aviation

Ukraine officially notified the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) that it considers Russian airspace unsafe for civil aviation. The decision was made due to increased military activity in the region.

The Ukrainian government warned of the risk of incidents during the continuation of the war. This notification represents a formal warning to the international community about the dangers associated with overflying Russian airspace.

ICAO is the UN agency responsible for regulating international civil aviation. It is now up to the organization to evaluate the notification and possibly revise safety recommendations for flights in the region.
