Portuguese citizens planning to travel temporarily to Brazil, whether for tourism, studies, family visits, or business, can now apply online for the "Certificate of Health Care Abroad" through the Social Security Portal. This document allows travelers to access the same health care available to Brazilian citizens during their stay in the country.
Portugal's Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security announced the news through a social media post. The application can be completed entirely online, without the need to visit service desks, making the process easier for interested citizens.
The process can be tracked through the Social Security Portal, and once the certificate is issued, the applicant automatically receives a notification in the portal's Message Box.
To request the document, the interested party must access the Social Security Portal and follow the path: "Illness" → "Medical assistance abroad" → "Bilateral Agreements" → "View and request Certificate of Health Care Abroad".
