The forward David Corrêa, known as DVD, was targeted by Operation A Tropa, from the Civil Police, on Monday, at his apartment in Barra da Tijuca. During the execution of the search and seizure warrant, the player's cell phone, computers, and documents were seized. David was alone at the moment when police arrived on Monday morning.
Vasco showed concern about the athlete's emotional state after the operation. The club spoke with the player before the trip for the match against Vitória, this Wednesday, in the Copa do Brasil, providing support to the forward during this difficult time.
The player was especially distressed about the media coverage of the operation and the need to notify his mother about what happened. As his cell phone was seized by police, David realized he didn't know his mother's phone number by heart, which left him anxious precisely at the moment when images of the operation were being released by authorities.
After the police action, David went to Vasco's training center in Jacarepaguá, where he followed other club activities while the situation was handled internally by the Vasco board.
