Flamengo announced this Wednesday the contract renewal with midfielder Erick Pulgar, 32 years old, until 2029. The Chilean, whose contract was set to expire at the end of next year, had his rescission fee raised, which was considered low, to around R$20 million. The player expressed his happiness with the renewal, highlighting the fans' affection as the greatest reward of his career at the club.
Even without reaching the amounts initially requested by the player, Flamengo adjusted Pulgar's salary, and he accepted the offer. The renewal guarantees the player's stay in light of the harassment from the Arab market, which showed interest in signing him. The club also offered the valorization of the Chilean due to the services rendered over the past four years.
Wearing Flamengo's jersey, Erick Pulgar played 172 matches, with 107 wins, 39 draws, and 26 losses, in addition to six goals scored. The midfielder became an important piece in the red-and-black squad during his time at the club, earning the trust of the fans and the technical staff.
