A 51-year-old woman, Lynnette Bellin, a baby swimming instructor, suffered serious injuries when she was attacked by an otter while swimming near Hidden Beach, at Lake Tahoe, in Nevada, United States. The attack occurred on Sunday morning (30) near Incline Village.
Bellin said she felt something grab her leg and pull her down with force. Initially, she thought it was a human. The otter then chased her for about five minutes, using its teeth and claws.
The victim managed to escape through the rocks on the shore, but found it difficult to climb them as they were slippery. After the attack, she managed to walk barefoot to the East Shore Trail area, where she received assistance. Bellin ended up needing 38 stitches for the injuries caused by the animal.
