Vilafamés plays for life: solidarity football day against leukemia

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General2 September 2026 at 11:55

The town of Vilafamés will hold on September 19th a solidarity football day dedicated to the fight against leukemia. The event combines the passion for sport with a humanitarian cause, promoting solidarity among participants and spectators.

The Club de Futbol Villafamés and the Ajuntament de Vilafamés are the main organizers of this initiative, with the collaboration of the Associació contra la Leucèmia de Castelló. This partnership between sporting, governmental and associative entities aims to maximize the impact of citizen mobilization.

The main objective of the day is the collection of funds that will be entirely destined for the Josep Carreras Foundation and its work of research and fight against cancer. This foundation is internationally recognized for its commitment in the fight against hematological diseases.

The event reflects the tradition of Vilafamés in organizing activities that unite the community around relevant social causes, demonstrating how football can serve as a platform for awareness and support for people affected by leukemia.
