The Urban Ecological Park of Viana do Castelo will host, on September 5 and 6, two late afternoon outdoor music sessions. The initiative is promoted by the City Council of Viana do Castelo, with programming by David Martins Cultura, and proposes an experience of musical enjoyment in a tranquil environment, with the public invited to sit or lie on the grass.
The program begins on the 5th, at 6:30 PM, with the Guitão & Contrabaixo project, which will present the guitão, an instrument developed by luthier Gilberto Grácio for Carlos Paredes and considered unique for its sound and characteristics.
On the 6th, also at 6:30 PM, it is the turn of G-Project, dedicated to Gypsy Jazz or Jazz Manouche, a genre associated with musician Django Reinhardt and part of the World Music category.
The concerts took place on a small transparent stage installed in the Prado clearing, with sound levels adjusted to the space to minimize sound propagation to the more sensitive areas of the park. The organization recommends that the audience bring a blanket to enjoy the concerts on the grass.
