Lisbon's hospital emergency rooms continue to face strong pressure, with very high waiting times for patients classified as urgent. This morning, users who needed urgent care faced delays far exceeding those recommended.
At Hospital Amadora-Sintra, the situation was particularly severe, with waiting times exceeding 11 hours for urgent cases. This situation illustrates the extreme pressure being experienced in the emergency rooms of the Lisbon region.
The Minister of Health has already publicly acknowledged that the pressure on Lisbon's emergency rooms is expected to continue in the coming weeks, not anticipating significant improvement in the short term.
