These drivers are exempt from this toll on the A2 and can save €5.90 on a round trip

Residents of Alcácer do Sal can benefit from toll exemption on a section of the A2, a measure that came into effect on April 1 and allows saving €5.90 on a round trip between Alcácer do Sal and Lisbon. For those who make 22 days of monthly trips, the indicated saving can reach €129.80. The exemption applies to the section of the South Motorway between the A2/A6/A13 junction and Almodôvar, not representing the generalized end of tolls on the A2.

The benefit is not automatic and requires an application through Via Verde. Interested parties need to have an active Via Verde identifier, having subscribed to the service before submitting the request. In the application, it is necessary to indicate the covered vehicle, present a photograph of the registration certificate (DUA), and the address on that document is used to verify eligibility.

After submission, the application is subject to validation, so the benefit is not immediately granted. The status of the process can be monitored through the Via Verde reserved area. The exemption is valid for one year and its renewal depends on maintaining the necessary requirements. The regime also covers certain sections of the A6, between the A2/A6/A13 junction and Caia, and the amount effectively saved will depend on the route taken.
