The Portuguese government increased by 100 million euros the public guarantee for permanent primary housing credit aimed at young people. This measure aims to support access to home ownership for young people up to 35 years old, inclusive. The public guarantee applies to housing loan contracts signed until the end of 2026. This initiative comes in the context of growing difficulties that young people face in accessing the real estate market, particularly regarding bank financing for purchasing their own home.
