The Municipality of Loulé celebrated, throughout the last week, the contracts for the fourth edition of the Housing Rent Subsidy, a measure that will support 65 family households in the municipality. The program is integrated into the Local Housing Strategy 2019-2032 and is aimed at families facing high housing costs and difficulties in accessing the local rental market.
The initiative aims to reduce the burden of rents on family budgets and help beneficiaries access or remain in adequate housing at affordable costs. According to the municipality, the number of 65 family households covered reflects the strengthening of the municipal housing policy and the response to the difficulties experienced by the population.
The mayor of Loulé, Telmo Pinto, announced that the municipality intends to strengthen this response and expand the universe of beneficiaries. "We will increase the amount allocated to this initiative, as well as the number of families supported," stated the mayor, adding that, in addition to providing housing for rent, this is one of the main measures to address a problem that is global and is also felt acutely in the municipality.
The Housing Rent Subsidy is one of the measures planned by the Municipality of Loulé to address housing access difficulties, operating in parallel with the provision of housing units intended for rent.
