Algarve leads rent increases, but Lisbon remains the most expensive region

House rental prices in Portugal increased by 4.9% in August, compared to the same month in 2025, to a median value of 18.1 euros per square meter. It is the second consecutive month of rises after a first half of the year in decline.

The Algarve region leads the rent increases in Portugal. However, Lisbon remains the most expensive region in the country for renting housing.

This growth comes after a six-month period in which prices were declining, reversing the trend observed at the beginning of the year.
