The second edition of the Book Voucher programme ended on 31 August, with a total of 52,448 vouchers issued. Of these vouchers, 45,075 were actually used by young people to purchase books.
The voucher granted to young people had a value of 30 euros, intended exclusively for the purchase of books. The programme aimed to support access to reading and encourage reading habits among the young population.
Compared to the first edition of the programme, 10.1% more vouchers were issued and 14.8% more were used. These figures indicate significant growth in programme uptake between the two editions.
Over 45 thousand young people took advantage of the support provided by the government to buy books, representing a utilisation rate of approximately 86% of the vouchers issued in this second edition.
