The International Monetary Fund warned that the energy shock has not yet ended, maintaining focus on the tensions that continue to affect global energy markets. The IMF's Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva, issued several warnings during her interventions, underscoring the uncertainty that persists in this sector.
Among the highlighted warnings, the IMF also warned about the growing impact of artificial intelligence on energy demand. The increase in the adoption of AI technologies is significantly pressuring electrical grids and data centers, contributing to unprecedented energy demand.
Georgieva also drew attention to the concerning rise in public debt globally. According to her, this situation exceeds the historical peaks recorded after World War II, which represents a significant challenge for the world's economies.
These warnings come in a context of multiple economic and geopolitical pressures that continue to test international financial stability, with the IMF reinforcing the need for vigilance and appropriate measures by governments.
