Correio da Manhã2 September 2026 at 00:10

The Simon Bolivar Maiquetia International Airport, located in the State of La Guaira, in northern Venezuela, resumed its operations after two months of closure caused by an earthquake. The airport serves Caracas and is the main point of air entry into the country.

The suspension of operations lasted approximately two months, during which recovery work and structural assessment were carried out at the airport facilities after the damage caused by the earthquake.

With the reopening, the air terminal resumes receiving commercial flights and passengers, restoring Venezuela's main international connection with the outside world.
