Portuguese Chamber of Minas Gerais presents "Dinner of 7" program with gastronomic acts in Ouro Preto

The Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Brazil — Minas Gerais (CPCBMG) holds on September 7th, at 7 pm, the 5th edition of the dinner "Dinner of 7 — At the Table of Independence", at Palácio D'Ouro, in Ouro Preto. The event combines gastronomy, historical memory and solidarity, organized in seven gastronomic acts with seven chefs and seven wines. The program starts at 5:45 pm with a reception with sparkling wine, followed by a silent charity auction at 6 pm, whose funds will be destined to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. The dinner itself covers themes such as "The Gold of Minas Gerais", "The Gold Routes", "The Baron's Table", "Between the Kingdom and the Colony", "The Court in the Tropics", "The Independence" and "The Legacy", with dishes by chefs such as David Faria, Tiago Borges, Marlon Sérgio de Sá, Wagner Salomão, Euler Edjar Silva and Fernanda Aguilar. After the seven acts, the gathering continues in the gardens with coffees, liqueurs and traditional Minas Gerais sweets. President Miguel Jerónimo highlighted that the dinner is not just gastronomic, but a moment of celebration of Brazil's Independence and of encounter between Luso-Brazilian culinary traditions. The evening also includes the awarding of two honorary distinctions — the "Order of Freedom" and the "Order of the Knights of Freedom" — created by Miguel Jerónimo to recognize personalities for their contribution to commercial, cultural and social relations between the two countries. The orders, designed by artists Zackia Daura and Fátima Santiago and minted in gold, silver and precious stones, symbolize a return of colonial riches transformed into homage to people who enrich society through culture, art and social action.
