E-REDES announced new scheduled power outages in Portugal between September 2 and 4, due to maintenance, reinforcement and improvement work on the electrical grid. The cuts will affect localities in the municipalities of Mafra and Sintra, with most interruptions scheduled for periods between 05:00 and 06:00, in order to reduce the impact on consumers.
On September 2, outages are scheduled in the Union of Parishes of Malveira and São Miguel de Alcainça, in Mafra, covering several postal codes, as well as in Pêro Pinheiro and Rua das Lagoas, in São João das Lampas, in the municipality of Sintra. On September 3, the outages continue in Sintra, affecting areas of Terrugem and Colares. On September 4, the work will reach streets in the parish of Algueirão-Mem Martins and new areas of São João das Lampas.
E-REDES recommends that consumers unplug more sensitive appliances, such as computers and televisions, from the socket before the cuts, in order to reduce the risk of damage caused by possible voltage fluctuations when the supply is restored. The specific times may vary depending on the location, so affected consumers should confirm the information associated with their respective address.
According to E-REDES, these interruptions are temporary and do not mean a generalized failure of the electrical grid, being pre-scheduled work that aims to allow technical interventions and improve service quality. Those living in affected areas should prepare to be without electricity during the indicated period and avoid relying on essential electrical equipment during this interval.
