Fire at Quinta de Santo António in Setúbal has been contained

The fire that broke out at Quinta de Santo António, in Setúbal, has been contained by the competent authorities. The fire consumed an extensive area of scrubland and destroyed several structures that served as support for the local allotments in that area.

Quinta de Santo António is an area known for the presence of community allotments, used by local residents for subsistence farming. The structures affected by the fire functioned as support structures for the amateur farmers who cultivate land in that area.

Setúbal's Civil Protection authorities were called to intervene in fighting the flames. After several hours of work, the firefighters managed to contain the fire, preventing the flames from spreading to residential areas nearby.

Information about the causes of the fire has not yet been released. The competent authorities will now proceed to investigate the circumstances of the occurrence and assess the damage caused to the infrastructure and vegetation of Quinta de Santo António.
