Electricity consumption in Portugal registered growth of 3.1% through August, maintaining the upward trend observed throughout the year. In August in particular, electricity consumption grew 1.2% compared to the same period last year, rising to 2.2% when corrected for temperature effects and the number of working days.
At the same time, solar production reached a new record, contributing significantly to the country's energy mix. This growth in solar energy reflects the continuous investment in renewable sources observed in Portugal.
The data indicate that the increase in electricity consumption is aligned with economic recovery and the increase in industrial and domestic activity in the country.
