The Economic and Food Safety Authority (ASAE), the Viticulture Commission of the Vinho Verde Region (CVRVV) and the Port and Douro Wine Institute (IVDP) held a joint coordination session for the control and inspection of the 2026 Harvest, reinforcing coordination between the three entities under the cooperation protocol they have maintained for several years.
The leaders and respective teams of the three institutions met at the Casa dos Vinhos Verdes, in Porto, with the aim of coordinating the control plans applicable to the Vinho Verde, Douro and Porto Designations of Origin, promoting information and knowledge sharing between the entities.
The session focused particularly on the coordination of controls during the harvest, aiming to ensure traceability of grapes and their respective flows, as well as compliance with applicable legislation on the protection of Designations of Origin and Geographical Indications.
Mechanisms were also defined to reinforce the efficiency of the teams' actions, streamline contact channels and shared procedures, and ensure close and rigorous monitoring throughout the wine-growing campaign.
