The City Council of Viana do Castelo launched a new merchandising line for the city's brand, which was created by a 24-year-old young person from Viana. The collection results from the "Marca Viana" contest, promoted by the municipality with the aim of involving young people in decision-making processes and local creative initiatives.
The author of the collection is Dânia Cerqueira Amorim, native of Perre, a parish of the municipality of Viana do Castelo. Dânia is graduated in Communication Design, and her proposal was the one chosen among the many submitted for the contest launched by the local authority.
The "Marca Viana" contest emerged with the intention of bringing youth closer to the decision-making processes of the city council. The local authority also wanted to allow young artists to actively participate in the creative processes related to the image and identity of the municipality.
