Flamengo: Bap archives request for removal of Marcos Motta due to conflict of interest

oglobo1 September 2026 at 14:10

The Board of Directors of Flamengo, led by president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, archived on Monday the request for the removal of the club's Vice President of Assets, the lawyer Marcos Motta. The Deliberative Council, which was also asked about the matter, has not yet addressed the issue.

Opposition groups from the club filed a complaint last week with the three bodies of the club, claiming that Motta would be statutorily prevented from holding the position due to a conflict of interest. The main allegation is that Motta, founding partner of the law firm Bichara e Motta Advogados, maintains professional activity in the football market while holding a management position at Flamengo.

According to the complaint, Motta's law firm works on transfers of players and coaches, on structuring Football Corporations (SAFs) such as Santos', and offers consulting services for various clubs. The oppositionists argue that this simultaneous professional activity would constitute a conflict of interest incompatible with the position he holds at the club.

Metro assesses vulnerabilities of the suburban channel and Lousã wants a new station at Alto do Padrão

Metro Mondego is finalizing a survey of vulnerabilities in the suburban channel between Coimbra and Lousã, after the connection to Serpins has been interrupted since January due to slope instability. Service was resumed today on a six-kilometer section, after an investment of approximately three million euros to restore safety. The company contracted IP Engenharia to technically support the survey and studies for the possible expansion of Metrobus to the municipalities of Condeixa-a-Nova, Cantanhede and Mealhada. The Lousã City Council also advocates for the creation of a station in the Zona Industrial do Alto do Padrão, whose cost is already being assessed by Metro Mondego for possible inclusion in the 2027 budget.
