Madeira's public companies reduce debt by 221 million euros

Public companies in the Autonomous Region of Madeira reduced their financial debt by 221 million euros by the end of the second quarter of this year, representing a decrease of 39.5% compared to the same reference period of the previous year.

The data comes from the latest report on the Business Sector of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, released by the Regional Secretariat of Finance, which outlines the financial landscape of regional public companies.

In addition to the reduction in financial debt, the global liabilities of regional public companies also decreased significantly during the period under analysis.

Between June 2025 and June of this year, 227 million euros were removed from the global liabilities of Madeiran public companies, demonstrating a financial consolidation effort by the regional business sector.
