The eDreams travel platform recorded a net profit of only 200,000 euros in the first quarter of its fiscal year, which runs from April to June. This value represents a sharp drop of 98.5% compared to the 13.6 million euros achieved in the same period of the previous year.
The dramatic decline in the company's results reflects the difficulties faced by the online travel sector, which has been impacted by multiple economic and competitive factors. eDreams, one of the main travel booking platforms in Europe, saw its profitability significantly compromised during this period.
The comparison with the same quarter of the previous year highlights the magnitude of the drop, with a difference of 13.4 million euros between the two periods. This substantial reduction poses significant challenges for the company's financial strategy in the coming quarters.
