A centenary pine tree fell in the Setúbal area and caused damage to nine vehicles parked in the area. The incident occurred in a residential area where large trees are located near roads and parking spaces.
Local residents assure that they had already warned the municipal authorities about the danger the tree represented. According to residents, warnings about the risk of falling were not taken into account by the responsible entities.
The tree's fall did not cause any injuries, although the material damage to the vehicles is significant. Local authorities will need to assess the situation and respond to residents' complaints about the lack of prevention.
This type of incident raises questions about the maintenance and inspection of large trees in urban areas, especially those that already show signs of instability or danger.
