The National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof) announced that, at this moment, there are more than 2,600 positions without teachers at the start of the school year. This number represents a significant lack of teachers in Portuguese schools.
Fenprof considers that the measures adopted by the Government cannot hide a chronic problem of resource scarcity in schools. The federation understands that the current situation reveals persistent structural failures in the education system.
The start of the school year is thus marked by this significant gap in teaching staff, which raises concerns about the proper functioning of schools and the quality of education offered to students.
