Businessman Leonardo Souza Ceschini was sentenced to 13 years and 24 days in prison for the murder of his wife Érica Fernandes Alves Ceschini, killed in January 2021 at the couple's home in São Paulo, following an argument related to the rivalry between Corinthians and Palmeiras. The trial concluded at the 5th Criminal Court of the Capital, and the Jury Council recognized authorship, materiality, Femicide, and the use of cruel means. The fight started after a victory by Palmeiras over Santos 1-0 in the Copa Libertadores. During the argument, Leonardo used a knife to strike the woman multiple times in the chest, back, and legs, in the presence of the couple's two children.
