The natural disaster has triggered a large-scale humanitarian crisis in the region. The latest toll indicates that the total number of deaths exceeded 1,000 today, making this one of the worst catastrophes to hit the region in recent years.
The Nepali disaster management agency continues to coordinate rescue and relief operations for the affected populations, working in collaboration with international authorities to locate the remaining missing persons and provide support to the victims.
