The strike by TAAG – Linhas Aéreas de Angola air maintenance technicians, announced for Tuesday, September 1, was cancelled after meetings between the company's management and the union structure. The strike notice was withdrawn, allowing the normal continuation of operations of the Angolan state airline.

The company stated, in a communique, that negotiations continue with a view to building a balanced and sustainable solution. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Clóvis Rosa, stated that he values the decision to maintain dialogue and that there are matters on which positions need to be brought closer together, but that this work must be done responsibly.

The TAAG maintenance technicians had announced the strike demanding salary adjustments and contesting what they consider to be unilateral decisions by the company. The strike threat put at risk the operations of the Angolan state air carrier, which provides air transport to 13 domestic destinations and 12 international destinations.
