Manuel Flahault has been appointed CEO of Air France-KLM for Portugal and Spain, assuming this position on September 1st. The executive comes to this role after serving as CEO of Air France-KLM for Brazil and the Southern Cone, which includes Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.
With a career spanning over 20 years at Air France-KLM, Manuel Flahault has extensive experience in various areas, including Sales, Revenue Management, Corporate Accounts and Marketing. His career also includes the positions of Director of Corporate Sales for France and Director of Global Corporate Accounts, both based in Paris. His academic background includes a Master's in International Business Management from HEC Paris and an MBA from ITAM Mexico. He is native in French and Spanish and fluent in English and Portuguese.
In his inauguration statement, Flahault expressed great commitment and enthusiasm for the new challenge, stating he is proud to lead a professional team in a strategic market for the Group. His objectives include consolidating the airlines' position, strengthening connections with customers and partners, offering an exceptional travel experience and working to reduce CO2 emissions.
Air France-KLM has a long history on the Iberian Peninsula. In Spain, Air France has been present since 1933 and KLM since 1946. In Portugal, KLM began flying in 1940 and Air France in 1946. Currently, during summer, both airlines operate from 12 airports in Spain and three in Portugal, with connections to Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.
