Jornal de Negócios1 September 2026 at 12:13

Tim Cook today passed the CEO baton of Apple to John Turnes, marking the end of an era of leadership at the tech giant. The vice-president of Data and Analytics at IDC, Francisco Jerónimo, commented on the transition in an interview with Negócios, describing Cook as "the execution genius" at the company.

Francisco Jerónimo highlighted that Tim Cook leaves a significant legacy at Apple, having been responsible for transforming strategic vision into concrete results during his tenure as CEO.

According to Jerónimo's analysis, Tim Cook, upon assuming the role of chairman of the listed company, will continue to play a leading role in managing the institutional relations he has developed over the past years, particularly with governments and regulators.

ULS Viseu Dão-Lafões expands medication dispensing through pharmacies

The Local Health Unit of Viseu Dão-Lafões is reinforcing the distribution of medications through pharmacies in the region, allowing patients to reduce trips to the hospital. The program, which started three months ago, already covers more than 60 patients in different municipalities and allows them to pick up hospital medication at a pharmacy of their choice. Clinically stable patients with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriasis, renal insufficiency with kidney transplant and some oncological treatments can join. The ULS ensures that joining does not reduce hospital follow-up, with pharmaceutical services remaining responsible for safety and therapeutic continuity.
