President Lula signed on Monday (31) a decree establishing new rules for the sale and transfer of tickets to cultural and sporting events at the Presidential Palace. The measure aims to combat the so-called digital ticket scalping and enhance consumer protection.
During the signing ceremony, the government received fans of various international artists, including Taylor Swift, BTS, BLACKPINK, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Olivia Rodrigo, among others.
Under the new rules, ticket sellers must adopt mechanisms to prevent copying and counterfeiting of tickets, as well as making circulation through unauthorized means more difficult. The systems must also allow the consumer to verify the authenticity, traceability and security of tickets.
According to the director of the Department of Consumer Protection and Defense, Daniel Carnaúba, the decree also established other consumer protection measures in the events sector.
