Two people died and two others were seriously injured following a collision that occurred this Monday on IC8, in the municipality of Ansião. The accident caused a significant toll of victims, with the two seriously injured needing urgent medical care.
More than 40 operatives and 15 vehicles were mobilized to the scene of the accident, in an emergency response that involved ground and air rescue resources. Among the resources deployed were two VMER vehicles, the emergency medical vehicle with doctor and technician on board, as well as a helicopter for possible evacuation of victims.
The competent authorities were activated to investigate the causes of the collision and manage traffic on the road, which experienced disruptions during the rescue operations and removal of the vehicles involved.
