House prices in Madeira rose 7% in August this year, compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Idealista real estate portal. This rise positions the region as one of those with the highest growth in the national real estate market.
The average price to buy a house in Funchal reached 4,042 euros per square meter, making it the third most expensive value in the country. This data reflects the high demand and shortage of supply in the Madeiran capital.
The portal's data indicates that all 25 districts and islands analyzed over the last year recorded price increases, with the exception of the island of Faial, which, contrary to the national trend, showed a decrease of 10.1%. In the Madeira region, the recorded increase was 8.8%, slightly higher than the regional average of 7%.
