The Public Security Police (PSP) has flagged since July 27 a total of 284 elderly people who are in situations of risk, of which 182 cases are considered concerning. This operation to identify and monitor vulnerable elderly people has been underway since late July, with the PSP monitoring elderly people who may need support or intervention.
The flagged elderly people are in various vulnerability situations that prompted concern from authorities. The PSP is monitoring these cases within the scope of its community policing and vulnerable group protection duties.
The operation directly involves the Public Security Police as the police force responsible for flagging and monitoring these elderly people. The 284 identified elderly people represent the total universe of people flagged since the beginning of the operation.
