Jornal do Algarve1 September 2026 at 09:11

The Municipal Museum of Archaeology of Silves (MMAS) celebrates its 36th anniversary with a special program between September 3 and 6, during which admission will be free. The celebrations are integrated into the Celebrations of Silves Municipality Day, with activities aimed at different audiences, including families and general visitors.

During the four days, the museum will operate at its usual hours, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The main day of the festivities will be September 4, when guided visits to the Cistern-Well are scheduled, both in the morning and afternoon, in an initiative open to all families.

The evening program on that day includes the show "Evocation to the Cistern-Well," at 9:30 PM, performed by dancer Mónica Pereira and multi-instrumentalist musician Husam Humami. The performance blends dance and live music, establishing a connection between the history of Silves, the legends of the Enchanted Moors, and contemporary artistic creation, enhancing the historical and symbolic dimension of the space.

The celebrations end at 10:30 PM with the traditional cutting of the anniversary cake, in a moment open to all those present. For more information, interested parties can contact the museum via telephone 282 440 854 or the email address [email protected].
