Death toll rises to over 950 with nearly 4,500 missing

Nepal authorities today updated the provisional balance of the devastating flood that occurred on Wednesday on the border with China, registering 939 dead and 3,925 missing. China's state media reported 16 dead and 546 missing on the Tibet side.

With these combined data, the provisional total of victims of the catastrophe rises to 955 dead and 4,471 missing. The previous balance indicated 919 dead and 4,793 people unaccounted for, representing a significant increase in the number of dead but a decrease in the missing.

Among those missing in Nepal are pilgrims and tourists from various countries who were in the region affected by the flood at the time of the catastrophe.

Man dies at hospital after collision on A24

A 65-year-old man died at Vila Real hospital after suffering very serious injuries in a collision on the A24, involving a motorcycle and two light vehicles. The other victim, a woman, suffered multiple fractures and was also taken to hospital. The accident caused the man's death still in the Emergency room, in cardiorespiratory arrest, and caused traffic restrictions on one lane in the south-north direction.
