Brazilian country singer Marcelo Gasparini, who performed in a duo with his twin brother Mauricio Gasparini, died this Monday (31st) at the age of 54. Marcelo passed away during the early morning at a private hospital in Ribeirão Preto (SP), after battling cancer that was discovered in February of this year. The singer leaves behind his wife and one child.
Mauricio Gasparini, who is also a city councilman, gave an interview to EPTV, a Globo TV affiliate, and became emotional while remembering his twin brother. He said that their partnership began before their stage career, lasting 35 years in music. Mauricio explained that their bond started even in their mother's womb and from a very young age they already sang together in churches and festivals.
Marcelo Gasparini's family thanked the support received after the singer's death and asked for respect during this time of mourning and for the family's privacy. Singer Daniel also used social media to lament the death of Marcelo Gasparini and remembered the friendship between them.
