Supreme Federal Court President, Justice Edson Fachin, met on Monday (31st) with the director-general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, at the National Justice Council. The meeting focused on "information security in the justice system" and was attended by the CNJ Secretary-General, Clara Mota, and the coordinator of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, João Felipe Lopes.
The meeting occurs amid a moment of tensions between the Federal Police leadership and Justice André Mendonça, also of the STF. The encounter was marked by the existing friction between the two institutions.
Justice Mendonça is the rapporteur of investigations considered sensitive at the court, including the Banco Master case, INSS, and the investigations involving Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha. Some recent decisions by Mendonça have caused discomfort at the Federal Police leadership.
