There was a time when the word "culture" more evidently evoked heritage, knowledge, arts, traditions, critical thinking and identity. These were the most common and recognized associations when talking about culture.
Today, the term culture seems to serve to designate almost everything, from events, entertainment, leisure, festivals or any activity with some public dimension. The scope of the concept has become much broader and more diffuse.
The concept has been progressively broadened to encompass very different realities among themselves. This semantic expansion reflects a transformation in the way society understands and uses the term.
