With no cinema theaters, Viana do Castelo screens animation film preview in square

Viana do Castelo has no movie theaters in the city. To address this absence, Praça da República will host the preview of a 3D animated feature film. The film is themed around the city of Viana do Castelo itself. The initiative enables local residents to watch a film production dedicated to their city, even without the existence of a traditional cinema screen in the municipality.

Premiere of "Viana, the Legend of the Golden Hearts" to Be "Hollywood-Style" at Praça da República

Praça da República in Viana do Castelo will host on November 19 the premiere of the 3D animation film "Viana, the Legend of the Golden Hearts", in a "Hollywood-style" event with a red carpet. The mayor, Luís Nobre, said that the choice of the square aims to associate the premiere with the city's monuments that appear in the film, transmitting to the world that the settings are real and can be visited. The municipality approved a new support of 150,000 euros to the production company Watermelon Productions for the international promotion of the film, increasing the municipality's financial involvement in the production. Directed by Rodrigo Carvalho, the film has a budget of about 15 million euros and will premiere in Portuguese and English versions, simultaneously in national and international theaters.
