Works on the new access to Vale do Neiva continue after the PRR deadline ends

Alto Minho31 August 2026 at 18:00

The formal process for the construction of the road access between the Vale do Neiva industrial zone and the A28 junction, in Viana do Castelo, is concluded, but the construction work has not yet finished.

The mayor of Viana do Castelo, Luís Nobre, stated that the work will not lose its funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, whose deadline ended on August 31, since all necessary formalities had been previously completed.

Luís Nobre highlighted that the Government defined procedures that allow ensuring compliance with formalities, even in cases where works have not yet been fully executed, comparing the situation to what happens in other community programmes.

The mayor explained that, if any unexecuted task that was subject to funding is identified, a notification will be made to proceed with the necessary adjustment.
