Notícias de Coimbra31 August 2026 at 18:34

The future Glória elevator, in Lisbon, should only open to the public in 2029, according to current forecasts. The project includes a "new system" that will guarantee "all the necessary security" for the elevator's operation.

The Lisbon city council plans to launch a tender for the construction of the equipment. The Glória elevator is an important public transport infrastructure in the Portuguese capital, connecting the city center to higher areas.

The project arises in a context of modernization of the city's transport and infrastructure. The municipal authorities have been working on developing the necessary studies to ensure that the new elevator meets all safety and functionality requirements.
