Future Glória elevator will have 'new system' to be designed following international tender

Lisbon will have a new Glória elevator, which will have a "new system" to be designed following an international tender. The project aims at the construction of a technologically advanced new model to replace or update the current historic elevator.

The vice-president of the Lisbon City Council was the figure who announced and commented on the project, highlighting the importance of a modern and effective approach for this city infrastructure.

According to the council member, the new system should be "technically robust", guaranteeing "all effectiveness and all safety" operationally. The model to be selected will also follow the best international practices for this type of infrastructure.

The international tender will allow for the evaluation of different solutions and technologies available globally, ensuring that the final choice meets the highest quality and safety standards for the elevator users.
