CDU calls for health reinforcement and Topo Firefighters to operate 24 hours a day

The CDU of São Jorge is publicly advocating for the reinforcement of doctors and nurses at the São Jorge Island Health Unit (USISJ), warning of the need for more human resources at that health facility.

The party also proposes the creation of an extension of the Calheta Health Centre in the Topo area, in order to guarantee better access conditions to healthcare for the population of that region of São Jorge island.

Regarding the Topo Firefighters, the CDU advocates that this fire brigade should operate on a 24-hour basis, thus ensuring a permanent emergency service for the inhabitants of the area.

These proposals arise in the context of the CDU's claims for São Jorge island, which understands that more investment in health and civil protection is needed to improve the quality of life of the local population.
