The PS (Socialist Party) today requested from parliament the urgent hearing of the Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida. The request comes following news about the execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).
The party led by Pedro Nuno Santos wants the minister to provide clarification on the current state of execution of the RRP, which is the European financing program aimed at Portugal's economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The parliamentary hearing requested by the PS aims to clarify issues related to the fulfillment of the targets and objectives established in the plan, as well as any problems or delays in its implementation.
This request is part of the usual political oversight by the opposition to the executive, in this case regarding a dossier considered fundamental for the country's economic recovery and for the use of available European funds.
